Africell, one of the country’s leading mobile network operators, has officially launched an exhilarating 3-on-3 basketball tournament, slated to take place in March 2025, for its employees. The event, which features a total prize pool of 18,000 new Leones, will be held at the Young Sportsmen Club (YSC) on Wilkinson Road in Freetown.

In celebration of the holy month of Ramadan, Africell Sierra Leone has officially launched its annual Ramadan Show, Na Yu Get, offering a total of Le500, 000 in cash prizes to subscribers across the country.

In a groundbreaking move to honor International Women’s Day 2025, Africell Sierra Leone granted all its female employees a special day off on Friday, March 7, 2025, allowing male employees to step into their roles for the day. This unprecedented initiative offered a unique opportunity for male staff to experience firsthand the vital contributions of their female colleagues in the workplace.

The Sierra Leone Basketball Federation (SLBF) is one step closer to realizing its vision of building an indoor basketball court in Aberdeen. During a site visit today, the President of SLBF, Alie Hijazi, Africell’s owner, Ziad Dalloul, and CEO, Shadi Al-Gerjawi, along with Africell’s marketing and finance teams, assessed the proposed location for the project, which is expected to be completed within three years.

First Lady of Sierra Leone, Dr. Fatima Maada Boi has given a special acknowledgment thanks and appreciation to Mr. Ziad Dalloul, the Chief Executive Officer at Africell Group and Africell for their continuous and generous support towards the enactment of the prohibitions of Child Marriage Act 2024 in Sierra Leone.
